How do you make a QR code sign for wedding photos?

What to put on it

• What they get, first. “Get your photos from tonight” works better than “Upload your photos”, because one is an offer and the other is a chore.
• What will happen. One line — it opens in your browser, there is nothing to install.
• The code, big enough. At least 3cm across on a table card; larger on anything people scan from a distance.
• A short fallback link for the phone that will not scan.

Where to put it

On the tables. A sign by the door gets walked past by people carrying coats, drinks and gifts. A card on the table is in front of someone who is sitting down with a free hand.

If you only have one sign, put it wherever people will be standing still for a minute — near the bar or beside the seating plan.

Practical points

• Matte paper. Gloss reflects venue lighting and defeats the camera.
• Test it under the actual lighting if you can. Dim reception lighting is harder than your kitchen.
• Check reception at the venue standing where the sign will be.
• Print a spare. Cards go missing.
